With 3 months to go, Louis Dixon has raced into a massive lead, and now leads 2nd placed Jacob Tyler by 120pts! Mark Davis continues to close in on 2nd place, now only 6pts behind in 3rd. PTFC Fantasy Football Update - Week 19
With no Premiership football this weekend, everyone's points came from the 3rd round of the FA Cup, which proved fruitful for some, not so for others. The points for the 2 mid-week games also are included in this week table.
Louis Dixon still remains the person to catch as he leads table, with a 15pt cushion over 2nd placed Jacob Tyler. A poor week for Liam Brooks sees him slip down to 4th spot, as Mark Davis becomes the 3rd person to reach 1,000pts and moves into 3rd place. Chris Jackson and Ali Thompson are now joint 5th place. Montgomery Challenge Cup
Well done to Polegate Town 1st team on reaching the Semi Final of the Montgomery Challenge Cup. Town beat Cuckfield Rangers 4-2 at the War Memorial Recreational Ground. A full match report can be found here. Town now face either AFC Ringmer or local rivals Willingdon (who play this weekend) at home next month for a play in the final.

Training
Training has started again after the Christmas break. Same time and place as before, 630pm at Cavendish School. Training still costs £1 for a 1hr session of hard-work and mini-matches. Players who are looking to join the club are more than welcome to come along and train with the players, just turn up on the night with your £1 and you can join in.

Week 18 of the Fantasy Football is now on the website. After another double helping of Premiership football over the New Year period, Louis Dixon still remains the person to catch as he leads table. Jacob Tyler has closed the gap to 10pts, as they are currently the only 2 teams with over 1,000pts. Liam Brooks holds on to 3rd place, despite a good week for 4th placed Mark Davis, who leapfrogs Ali Thompson, who in turn drops to 5th. David Sheppard is close behind in 6th. After a pitch inspection at the War Memorial Recreational Ground, Bank Holiday Monday's home game for the 2nd team vs Halsford Lions has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The 1st team's game away at Furnace Green Galaxy is also off, as they have suffered with the heavy rain as well.

The first 2 weeks of fixtures for January have been released. There are games for both teams on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd January, with the 1st team away to Furnace Green Galaxy, and the 2nds at home to Halsford Lions (both games 11am KO). The 1st team then play their Quarter Final of the Montgomery Cup at home to Cuckfield Rangers on the 7th January. At the time of writing, the 2nds have yet to be scheduled a game that weekend. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The club don't have games on either Christmas Eve or New Years Eve, but the 1st team have home game on 27th December (Bank Holiday Tuesday), and the 2nd team have a home game on 2nd January (Bank Holiday Monday). The Sun's Dream Team Transfer window is now open. You can now make 3 transfers again, remembering to remain within £50m and either have a 442 or 433 formation. The transfer window closes on Friday 23rd December 2011. Any changes you make before then, their points don't come into affect until after that date. Get your Managers cap back on and take out those who aren't scoring you points, and replace them with players who are going to turn your season around. Good luck.

December Fixtures
The remaining fixtures for December have been released. Both Town's teams play Buxted on the 17th December, as Town's 1st team host Buxted's 1st team, whilst the 2nd team have to travel away to face Buxted's 2nds. Please be aware, that Town 1st team have been given a game on Tuesday 27th December (the day after Boxing Day) where they host AFC Ringmer, KO at 11am. Both teams then have a match on 2nd January 2012 (Bank Holiday Monday), so despite there being no games on the Saturday's over Christmas, its still a busy period down at the War Memorial Recreational Ground. The club would like to send their thanks to Mr Paul Roth, who travelled to the War Memorial Recreational Ground all the way from Margate in Kent to watch Polegate play their 2nd round match of the Mid Sussex League's Montgomery Challenge Cup vs Uckfield Town. The club would also like to thank him for the excellent photos he took on the day and kindly emailed to the club, which have been added to the club photo gallery, here.
Mr Roth, emailed the club after the game saying "I would like to thank Alan and Derek, and everyone else for that matter, that made me so welcome on the day. You should all be proud of what you've achieved down there in deepest Sussex. For my part, it's hard to recall such a well organised and professionally run club for the level at which it plays. Montgomery Challenge Cup
Well done to Polegate Town 1st team on reaching the Quarter Final of the Montgomery Challenge Cup. Town beat Uckfield Town 3-1 at the War Memorial Recreational Ground. Race Night
Polegate Town's host their annual race night on Saturday, 19th November 2011. The first race will start at 730pm at the Eastbourne DGH Social Club. It will be a great night, and helps support the club raise some extra money. Everyone is welcome and it is free to attend. The Tote is 50p per ticket, so you can spend as much or as little you like. Sussex FA Intermediate Cup
Polegate Town's run in the Sussex County FA Intermediate Challenge Cup ended for another year, as they were well and truely beaten by a very good Hollington United side, as Town lost 0-10. The club would like to wish Hollington the best of luck in the next round. Town now have to pick themselves up to get their league campaign back on track, as well as an important Montgomery Cup match against Uckfield Town, who they play at the end of the month, it what is Town only remaining Cup competition.

MSFL indoor 5-a-side
Polegate entered the annual Mid Sussex Football League's indoor 5-a-side on Tuesday, held at the Triangle Centre in Burgess Hill. Town played some great football in the tournament, winning all 5 of their group games and scoring 20 goals, but unfortunately lost 0-1 in the semi final to the eventual winners Copthorne. Training and Gym Facilities
Polegate have now had 3 successful and well attended training sessions having started training at Cavendish School in Eastbourne. The Club are pleased to inform members that they were able to secure Corporate Gym Membership for the club, and it is available for every player. Each player must first undergo an induction session on a Tuesday evening at between 5pm and 9pm, but must book this in advance. The induction sesion is approximately 45 minutes and will cost £2.55. Once the induction has been completed, all further visits to the Gym cost either £3.80 a session, £24.00 per month or £185.00 per year, but the players can come and go as an when it suits them. Training continues every Wednesday, starting at 630pm, lasting for 1hr at a cost £1. For any further info, please contact the club here.

Injury News
Town suffered a double blow during this weekend's matches. Despite both teams winning their respecitive games, 2 Polegate players had to go to hospital for injuries. Goalkeeper Josh Preece dislocated his finger during the 1st teams Cup match, and is ruled out for 4-6 weeks. However, there was worse news for youngster Matt Ornsby, who had to be taken to hospital with a spiral fracture to his lower leg after a challenge during the 2nd team's match at home. We wish both players a speedy recovery.

Sussex FA Intermediate Cup
After Polegate Town's 2-1 extra time victory over Lindfield, the 1st team have been drawn against East Sussex Premier Division leaders Hollington United in the 3rd round of the Sussex FA Intermediate County Cup. It's Town's 3rd away draw of the Competition so far, which will see them travel to Wishing Tree Road on Saturday 12th November 2011.

Winter Training
This week (4th October) will be the last training at Polegate Rec. Training will commence 30mins earlier, starting at 6pm, just for this week. From next week, training switches to a Wednesday evening, indoors at Cavendish School, starting at 630pm and finishing at 730pm. This will run throughout the rest of the season. All players also have access to the gym at Cavendish School at a vastly reduced rate which the club have managed to secure by booking the School for the year. Sussex FA Intermediate Cup
After beating Clymping 7-0 in the 1st round, Polegate Town's 1st team have been drawn against Mid Sussex Premier Division side Lindfield in the 2nd round of the Sussex FA Intermediate County Cup. It's another away draw for Polegate, which will see them travel to Lindfield Common on Saturday 8th October 2011.

Race Night
Polegate Town's annual race night has been booked for Saturday, 19th November 2011. The first race will start at 730pm at the Hospital Social Club. It will be of the usual format, with auction of each horse before the race, before the Tote opens. The club are looking for sponsors of the 8 races, so if you are interest in having a race named after your company, and being able to name the 8 horses in that race, please contact the club here. Friendlies Update

FA Charter Standard Club Status
Polegate Town FC are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the FA Charter Standard Club status, in recognition of the clubs stable finances, commitment to equal opportunities, solid foundations and desire to improve the image of grass roots football. Polegate are the only local Intermediate status club to achieve this Charter and join a very small group of clubs in the immediate area. In fact there are only seven other clubs in the top two divisions of Mid Sussex Football League who have the same status, two of which have County league teams attached to them. There are only 6 other adult male teams within a 10-mile radius of Polegate, 2 of these are Eastbourne Borough FC and Eastbourne Town FC. Friendlies Update
Unforunately, this weekends friendly vs Hollington United has had to be postponed. Also, there is a change with Town's friendly vs Ringmer, which has been put back a week to the 24th August, due to Ringmer now having a charity match on the 17th. All changes are on the fixture list.

Sussex FA Intermediate Cup
Polegate Town FC 1st team have drawn Sussex County Division 3 side Clymping FC, away in the first round of the Sussex FA Intermediate County Cup. The game is scheduled for Saturday 10th September 2011. This means another long trip to West Sussex for Polegate, who drawn Hunston CC in last years competition.

MSFL League Cup Draws
The Mid Sussex League Cup draws have been released. Polegate Town 1st team have draw Premier Division opposition in Lindfield (away) in the Montgomery Challenge Cup. The 2nd team play Balcombe II (away) in the Somerville Challenge Cup. Good luck to both teams.

Pre-Season Training
Pre-season training starts on Tuesday 12th July at the War Memorial Recreational Ground at 7pm. All players are welcome to come down, both old and new. The club are still running 2 teams, but will now be entering the Mid Sussex League, which will be a new challenge for the club, but one that will be a good step forward. PTFC Presentation Night 2010/11
The club would like to thank all those who attended the presentation evening. It was a good way to finish the season off with over 60 players, management, sponsors and supporters there to celebrate the season, which the biggest triumph was winning the Blacklands Finance Challenge Cup, which was on display. The winners of the club trophies on the night were, Josh Preece, who won the coverted 1st team Players' Player award and the Supporters Award. Kevin Lock won the Managers Award after a superb first season with the club. Joe Lyons took home the 2nd team Players' Player Award for the 2nd year running, whilst goalkeeper Steve Cook won the Managers Award. Linda Lee won Clubman of the Year, for her support and help on match days making the teas and coffees at Polegate Rec. The club also handed out the Fantasy Football prize money to the winners and runners up, along with the popular certificates, celebrating the good, bad and bizarre moments throughout the season. The club would also like to thank the River Boys for the excellent music played after the meal, and the Chatsworth Hotel, who provided an quality 3-course meal which everyone enjoyed. MSFL Application
The club has received confirmation from the Mid Sussex Football League, that after our interview with the league committee, we have had our application to join the league accepted. The 1st team have retained their Intermediate status, and will play in the Championship division, whilst the 2nd team will enter at Division 5.
